BVID General Meeting

The minutes from the June21, 2001 meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as corrected.
Reports:

Parliamentarian- The constitutional by-laws are
updated and on the web. There has been
some new legislation. A new law for
court interpreters has been passed which states that all court interpreters
must have a special legal certification.
Without this certification, interpreters working in court or in related
areas will be committing a class C misdemeanor.
This law is effective as of

Old Business:
Fall Workshop:
Phyllis Hodges has volunteered to take care of the food for the workshop. She has been given a $50 budget. We still need to mail the flyers. We also need 2 volunteers to set up for the workshop and 2 volunteers to clean up after the workshop.

Interpreter Hiring Policy:
The interpreter hiring policy is not online yet.

It has been decided that we should continue to meet in a neutral place rather than in a home or church.
