BVID General Meeting
January 22, 2002
Meeting was called
to order at 7:12 PM
Quorum was
established.
The minutes from
the November 8, 2001 BVID Board Meeting were approved.

Old Business:
- Web Page upkeep: Joyce Tipton has done an outstanding job
keeping our web page current. She
is unable to continue as BVID web-master.
A volunteer for this job was requested. Since there were no volunteers, Sherri
will talk to Ginny about taking on this assignment. In the meantime, Sherri will get with
Michael Moore and try to learn how to update the calendar page.
New Business:
- Only one proposal was received for a
BVID spring workshop. That Proposal
was from Diana North and Sherri Roberts.
This proposal has been reviewed by the board and is presented to
the membership for action. Both
Sherri and Diana abstained from the discussion of this proposal except to
answer questions. President
Stephanie Everett accepted the sole proposal for the Spring Workshop on
behalf of BVID.
- Motion
#1: (Barbara Robinson, Diana
North) move that the executive board determine the date, location,
budget, and details for the BVID spring workshop. Motion PASSED
- All Social event ideas and inquiries
will be referred to Paige Abshire as she was appointed Social Event
Coordinator
- The date for the next BVID general
meeting was determined to be April 25th at 7:00 Pm at the
Brazos Valley Council of Government building. The BVID board will meet at 6:30PM on
Feb 21, 2002 at 1501 Glade and again on April 25 at 6 PM at the BVCoG.
- BVID’s Silent Auction donation for the
2002 TSID Conference was discussed.
Michael Moore was appointed to chair a committee that will purchase
BVID’s donation to the TSID 2002 Conference Silent Auction.
- Motion
#2: (Diana North, Sherri Roberts)
move that the silent auction committee be allowed to spend up to $50 on
the silent auction item for TSID 2002 conference. PASSED
- BVID board suggests that BVID
volunteer for the responsibility of selecting presenters for the TSID 2003
Conference to be held in Dallas.
- Motion
#3: (Diana North, Barbara
Robinson) move that the BVID rep volunteer BVID to serve as the committee
to select presenters for the TSID 2003 conference. PASSED
- The Deaf Council Project Proposal was
reviewed. Stephanie Everett will
send a letter to the Deaf Council describing the feedback from BVID
members to this proposal.
Announcement:
Diana North is now a certified childbirth
educator. Congratulations, Diana!
Next meeting: April 25, 2002, 7 PM at the BVCoG conference
room.
