BVID Board Meeting

February 21, 2002

 

The Meeting was called to order at 6:33 PM.

 

A quorum was determined.   The following were in attendance:

            President                      Stephanie Everett

Vice President              Diana North

            Secretary                      Ginny Sweet

            Parliamentarian Sherri Roberts

           

The minutes from the January 22, 2002 meeting were read by the secretary and approved.

 

Reports:

            President- written report

            Vice President- no report

Parliamentarian- The online application for TSID has an incorrect zip code and needs to be corrected.  The hard copy is correct.

            Secretary- no report

 

Old Business:

            Interpreter Hiring Policy

The interpreter hiring policy is online.

BVID Library

            The Miranda video is in and ready for use.  The book Myths and Misconceptions is unavailable for purchase.  ASL Storytime is also unavailable for purchase.

Website

            Ginny Sweet is not able to maintain the website at this time.  Sherri Roberts has tried to contact Michael Moore to ask him to do the job, but she has not been able to reach him.

Silent Auction

Michael Moore will be in charge of the silent auction donation for BVID this year.  Sherri Roberts will call to remind him.

New Business:

            Workshop & CEU’s for the Spring

                        Prices will be $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers.  We will send advertisements to the community calendar, ASL classes at Blinn,  Interpreter Training Programs, the Regional Day School parents, Henderson, Steven F. Austin, Bryan High School, and churches with interpreter services.  Diana North will check with the Bryan schools.  Phyllis will be asked to be in charge of refreshements again since she did a wonderful job last time.  Postage costs should be minimal.  We will budget a total of $100 for this workshop.

Motion 2002-02-01

Ginny Sweet moves that we approve a budget of $100 for the spring workshop in 2002.          

            Motion 2002-02-01 PASSED unanimously  

 

Announcements:           

Members of BVID have been invited to attend BVTAD meetings on the first Saturday of every month.
