BVID General Meeting

August 8, 2002

The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM.

A quorum was determined. The following were in attendance.

Minutes from June 14, 2002 meeting were read and approved.

Reports:

President: Michael Moore will attend the TSID Board Training as Chapter Rep Aug. 16-18. Thanks to Sherri Roberts for collecting proposals and creating a spreadsheet to make our discussion more productive.

Vice President: Diana checked on the possibility of getting an RSA grant. The grant cycle begins Oct. 1st, so it wouldn't be timely to get one for the fall workshop.

Secretary: none

Treasurer: We now have $2344.58 in the bank.

Parlimentarian: none

Old Business:

Web Page: Alicia Landin and Sherri Roberts are going to work with Michael this month on updating the web page.

Fall Workshop: Since a RSA grant is out for the fall, there was discussion about having a chapter workshop.

MOTION 2002-08-01 PASSED(Michael Moore, Sherri Roberts)

Move that BVID have a local chapter workshop in October to be planned and submitted to TCDHH by Sherri Roberts and Diana North.

TSID presenter selection: proposals were discussed at length.

MOTION 2002-08-02 PASSED (Kent Roberts, Sherri Roberts)

Move to stop discussion and email a final draft of presenters to submit to TSID for members to vote on.

We are still in need of entertainment for the banquet at conference.

New Business:

MOTION 2002-08-03 PASSED (Kent Roberts, Michael Moore)

Move that we allocate funds to purchase stamps in order for Diana North to send BVID info packets to interpreters at BISD through US Mail.

Next Meeting

September 10, 7:00 PM at BVCOG. There will be no Board Meeting.
