The Educational SIG supports interpreters working with all educational levels. We strive to provide a safe and comfortable environment in which to share, learn, and grow as professional educational interpreters.

"Educational Interpreting is providing students access to education to ensure their intellectual development, thus allowing the individuals to live up to their potential in life."
Educational Interpreters are seen in a variety of settings; such as and not limited to, parent/infant training, pre-schools, elementary through high school, college through graduate programs, and employment. When considering the vast impact that an educational interpreter has on an individual's life, this thought is breathtaking.. The responsibility and the accountability for the quality of one's work are overwhelming to say the least. As educational interpreters, we recognize and embrace the challenge with enthusiasm and sincerity. Educational Interpreters are a vital link in education. The Educational Interpreters Special Interest Group of Texas Society of Interpreters for the Deaf promotes recognition of the incredible job that educational interpreters perform on a daily basis in educational institutions. We hope to accomplish this goal by uniting together as professionals and actively educating others about our profession. Through unity that we can have an impact on our profession for years to come.
