- Professional Development is gearing back up for the fall! Both GHID and McRID are preparing their first workshops for the Fall season. Check out the Professional Development page for full details. Whether you're looking for Deaf/Blind interpreting or a weekend of Total Immersion in ASL, you can find it with one of the Houston area professional organizations. Besides these top quality workshops, other activities and events are already in the planning stages. Check back here often for updates.
- Countdown to Excellence achieved!! - The largest and most successful annual Conference in the history of TSID is now complete and many members of GHID were an integral part of achieving Excellence. The nearly 1000 registered attendees can attest to the quality and quantity of workshops, exhibitors, sponsors, and networking opportunities. If you are a TSID member, you will soon be receiving the InterpreTexan newsletter with a Conference wrap-up article to give you more statistics on this wonderful event. You will also find information in that newsletter about the 2009 TSID Conference on South Padre Island, which you will not want to miss. Stay tuned.
- SO YOU NEED TO HIRE AN INTERPRETER? You may check with the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) or with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) . Both groups maintain a list of service providers.
