Education Service Center Region 4 is sponsoring a Conference in Houston entitled Addressing the Needs of Deaf and Low Functioning Students. With 500 educators and interpreters expected to attend, this conference will cover a variety of topics including communications, classroom strategies, behavior management and more. December 6 , 2008 - Tactile Tactics, an Introduction to Deaf/Blind Interpreting. Monica Parks and Valerie Pedraza, both experienced interpreters and presenters, are ready to share their knowledge of Deaf-Blindness in the US, its cause and effects, and techniques you can immediately incorporate into your work. October 17-18 2008 - Total Immersion Weekend. Presented by Montgomery County Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (McRID), this will be unique opportunity to spend two days at a resort with other interpreters using and enhancing your ASL skills as you earn 0.9 CEUs.
