AN INTERPRETER'S GOAL IS TO MAINTAIN THE CODE OF ETHICS AND IN DOING SO, THE RIGHTS OF THE
INTERPRETER AND CONSUMER ARE PROTECTED.
Professional interpreters comply with a set of ethics that are established to protect the rights of the consumers of
the service, as well as to protect the interpreter. There are three main concepts associated with the Principles of Ethical
Behavior: Confidentiality, Impartiality, and Integrity. The interpreter applies these concepts in a variety of situations
for the delivery of quality services to consumers.
